It’s tough as shit! I had it a few years ago and honestly really liked it, it takes a lot of skill! The tracks are cool, it’s the closest mx sim out there, the rest of the mx games are arcade style.Having said that you do crash a shit ton at first so it’s very frustrating, which makes it very satisfying when you finally nail a perfect track.Having said all that you do have to stay very motivated to play it, I didn’t have any friends who played and everyone else was super good so I quit, I quit a few years ago and never thought about that game till I saw this post.Get the demo, give it a shot.
Im 43 and not much of a gamer but I have a kick ass computer that can handle it but. When I see the intro to the game where they are showing a rider going around a track Im like oh yea, thats awesome but then I see the actual gameplay itself Im like, uh, thats not realistic. And why would you ride from the sky camera view? Thats stupid. The cockpit view should be locked. Sky view is very arcadish to me. I may try it. To me the MX vs ATV has better, more realistic dirt but MX sim is better looking overall.
When you say 'intro to the game' are you talking about the video on the mxsimulator.com Web page? Because that is an edited video.
Yes you can choose to ride using either 'first person' or 'third person', but MX vs ATV has those same options.Comparing MX Sim to MX vs ATV is an unfair comparison. MX Sim was created by one single person, not a corporation. There are default tracks and bikes that come with the purchase of the game and then everything beyond that is user created, and the content is pretty incredible.Roll over to vurbmoto and look back through all of their track previews for Supercross and Outdoors this year.
Those are all tracks that you can download from the MX Sim community. Check out the forum to see what all is available.Oh and a little note, one of the former MX vs ATV team members from back in the reflex/alive Era, is one of the biggest contributors in MX Sim now. Wrote:What's the problem with the community? Some of the top creators want money for their 'work' of new models.
People rip off their stuff and they get mad which leads to the fees they put. All the top guys get the exclusive stuff. If someone makes a shitty skin on the top model the creator gets butt hurt.
Growth has been limited. All they do is bash bash bash. I use to do the arenacross series. Make the tracks and all and dealt with a fraction of what rF deals with and I agree with how shitty the community is. That's why I stick with only a few people in the community on the team I'm on.

Usually in casual nightly (03, 02 server) #179agree. I used to get hyped for national track releases and supercross releases. This season not so much. I think the direction the community is taking it will kill it eventually. Its an isolationist mentality that will stifle growth of a once great community.i've been a gamer since my teens, i'm now 46. This is probably one of the best games ever in my book (because of mx background) and it was made this good strictly by the volunteer community.the game developer gave the tools to the community and let them do all the work.brilliant on his part.have no problem with 3rd parties like RF charging fees for racing but i think its a mistake to withhold the content.even if its a delay. Kinda reminds me of napster taking a dive when they switched pay to play.
Wrote:race factory started charging a one time fee each season to keep the yahoos out. People literally enter races to sabotage people they dont like, the fee is very small (1 hour of pay to anyone w a decent brain)then release the tracks.they started charging for a bunch of reasons but the one you listed is a small part of it. One of the major reasons were to reinburse a lot of the track builders for their time/investment.albeit they ain't gettin rich off it but its something. I just disagree with the model, not them charging for stuff.
